Are you putting the https:// in the server field for the postgres server? If so please remove it. You should only use the DNS host name without a protocol. Also the Tableau Server postgres database is usually running on port 8060 not the default port for Postgres

I was able to successfully connect to the postgres tables for the lab environment after following your comments. I then followed the same process to enable access on our production server and tried connecting to the production server postgres tables via Tableau, and now I'm getting a new error message:
We are using Tableau 9.2 in both our lab and production environments.
