I almost to get there now I have found some workbook in forums that similar to my idea, now I can compare first date of current period to first date of prior period but unfortunately
I'm still cannot convert it into line graph .

First of, I never thought of doing this so I'm picking your workbook apart and getting some great ideas from it! Thank you! Now for your question, what about changing the dimensions, Order of Granularity and Day Date to continous, then changing the mark type to line? Attached is a quick mock up. I didn't check to see if your calculations are correct though. If you have any questions please post back!
Thanks you your workbook it's working great as I want, but I wonder that when I change Date Granularity into month and years it's seems to be not working.
Tableau still show a number of different but graph is shown nothing, so I try to change limit axis range but it's seems to be not working.
