I agree with panjala Srinath that a sample data set would greatly help us help you by providing an example.
There are 3 basic methods to approach this very common problem:
- Duplicated data source
- Filter on a table calculation (the LOOKUP trick)
- Level of Detail (LOD) calculations
I personally prefer LOD calculations. In the attached (v9.2) example using the Superstore database, you can see how this is done and experiment with it.
Can't really share the data, which I know makes it tougher to help.
I did eventually figure it out. This is what I ended up with. I cropped out the names for privacy.
Each color within the bar represents the time spent on a specific task for each Acct Mgr. Hover over shows AM name, name of task and hours spent on it per week, and total hours worked per week.
