Good question. Not in the short term. I wish I had started with Python 3, honestly, because it would have made all the Unicode support way easier. Certainly open to contributions if someone wants to attempt to port it over, but there's a lot of changes (I believe) that would need to be made and it's not clear to me that there'd be a ton of benefit for the work. If we do go that route, I'd want someone more experienced than I leading the charge, because my strength is more in getting what people need out of Tableau products than it is in programming.
Gotcha, thanks. We may look into trying to port using 2to3 but like you I'm not experienced enough in Python to jump into that with a good feel for what lies ahead. Ideally our office is going to standardize on python 3 but I think getting things done is priority #1 so we may just find a place for python 2.
I'm in the same boat. I'd like VizAlerts to be on Python3 but don't have the chops to be confident that I could pull that off without more effort than I have time available.
