# ratheSubtracting 2 dimensions from a Sales Measure

Hi all,

I have Sales. And I wish to create a calculated field that allows me to subtract the sales (based on 2 dimensions - shoes and socks). Such that I can get a calculated field that is the difference.

Any idea how?

Or rather to be more explicit. I have a string dimension (Holiday2015 and Holiday 2016). I have created a chart showing them one below another. I need a third chart below to show the difference between both).

Holiday15

Holiday16

Difference

Shoes   Socks  Shirts

I need the difference below. Holiday 15 and Holiday16 are one dimension called "Season"

Cheers,

Sunil

Sunil!

Are shoes and socks literally 2 separate dimensions or are they 2 members of a single dimension? Can you attach some sample data? It is always better to attach sample data or a packaged workbook along with what you expect to see out of the data so someone can easily help out!

Pooja.

Hey Pooja,

Always struggle to find sample cos my data is quite complex haha but thanks! I have the superstore samples attached here.

So I have 2 bar charts of store 1 and 2 (consider them a string season dimension) and the sales.

I need a third chart (or number etc) below showing the difference

One more question pooja. I used scaffold to ensure fields are still present despite the fact that data is not there.

LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([AAF Net Amt (USD)])),0)

I used this function. It shows me 0 for I guess fields that have 0 for the underlying data. But certain fields get hidden because there data I think is null. Is there a formula for me to make sure both 0 and null shows as 0

Cheers,

Sunil
