So from that, I don't need to install any drivers for now. Right?
Thanks,

John Kuo Jan 25, 2016 5:11 PM (in response to Su ve)What version(s) of Microsoft Office is installed? Please note if it's 32 or 64 bit, too.

4. Re: Access Drivers compatibility with Tableau Server 9.2
Su ve Jan 25, 2016 5:48 PM (in response to John Kuo)Microsoft Office Access Database Engine 2007 32 bit and Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 32 bit are installed on the server machine along with Tableau Server 9.2 64 bit.

John Kuo Jan 25, 2016 5:50 PM (in response to Su ve)Do you have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) installed? What bit and version?

6. Re: Access Drivers compatibility with Tableau Server 9.2
Su ve Jan 25, 2016 5:54 PM (in response to John Kuo)No, we don't have Microsoft Office installed on that machine.

John Kuo Jan 25, 2016 6:04 PM (in response to Su ve)1 of 1 people found this helpfulI think you have to install new driver since you are running 64 bit Tableau Server and you don't have Microsoft Office installed on the Windows server hosting Tableau Server.
I wonder if you should uninstall old drivers first to avoid conflict? I'd do it just to be safe -- you can always reinstall old drivers.

8. Re: Access Drivers compatibility with Tableau Server 9.2
Su ve Jan 27, 2016 1:05 PM (in response to John Kuo)I tried to uninstall the Access Driver 2007 first. That is done.
After that I tried uninstalling Access Driver 2010. But it didn't allow me saying "Tasks are running".
I found that some refresh tasks are failed due Access Driver 2007 uninstall.
As I cannot stop the server currently, immediately installed that driver back (downloaded from Download 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components from Official Microsoft Download Center ).
But now I am getting issues saying "Database error 0x80004005: Unrecognized database format".
I am working on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
How can I fix that?
Thanks,
Su Ve

9. Re: Access Drivers compatibility with Tableau Server 9.2
John Kuo Jan 27, 2016 1:09 PM (in response to Su ve)I would first stop Tableau Server then restart Windows server. Maybe you just need a fresh reboot for new driver to take effect.

Su ve Jan 27, 2016 5:56 PM (in response to John Kuo)John,
I have tried rebooting the Tableau Server as well as Windows Server.
And also ran "tabadmin config" command. But no luck.
Anything else I need to do?
Thanks,

1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi SuVe,
Please try this:
1) reboot the machine
2) install the same Access Drivers you used to use with Server 8.0.3 (the 32-bit ones that used to work for you)
3) start Tableau Server.
The 64 bit Server (or Desktop for that matter) should work perfectly fine with 32-bit Access Drivers, because we don't load those directly in memory; rather we have a "sandbox" called tabprotosrv.exe that hosts the drivers, so if we detect you've got 32-bit drivers then we'll just host them in a 32-bit sandbox.
Hope this helps,
Cristian

12. Re: Access Drivers compatibility with Tableau Server 9.2
Su ve Feb 4, 2016 5:20 PM (in response to Cristian Vlasceanu)Issue is resolved.
Steps I followed to fix that:
1. Unistalled all the access drivers on my machine.
2. Tried to open a workbook having access data source. Throwed me an error
saying "class not registered".
3. Then I installed 2007 driver.
4. It throwed me an error " unrecognised datasource format". So then I
installed 2010 32 bit driver.
5. Finally then I tried to refresh the datasource. It worked. Then I got to
know that problem is not with 2007 but with 2010 drivers.
6. Then I moved to server, stopped the server. Uninstalled the 2010 32 bit
driver and restarted the machine.
7. After that I re-installed the 2010 32 bit driver. I tried to run the
extract refesh task for that workbook. It worked.
Thanks
