# LOD Calculation Filtering a Dimension without using Filter Card

How do you use a LOD calculation and filter to a specific dimension without putting it in the filter card?

In the example workbook,

1. the Sum of Sales is \$819,911 (see Fixed tab)

2. Washington makes up \$38,930 of the total Sum of Sales. (see Total Sales and Per State)

3. Fixed LOD Calculation with WA Filter in Filter Card = \$38,930 (see LOD Calculation with WA Filter)

My question, how do we get to this \$38,930 by hard coding a WA filter in the LOD calculation and not putting it in the Filter Card? Ben Neville

Chris,

If you mean below result, put below calc field.

[WA Sales]

IF [State] = "Washington" THEN [Sales] END

Normal Filter's case Fixed Calc brings All States' Sales.   On the other hand, Saels = only WA.

When you Change State Filter to Context (Gray color), Fix is only effective Context Filter, then the answer is same.

The Top picture is showing Calculated filed which is not affected by filtering, and brings below results.

.

Thanks,

Shin

You don't need LOD for this.

Similar to the above answer, which I didn't see before getting my answer
