Update: I found that this error might be due to "X-Frame-Options" property which prevents frames/iframes from being opened in the page.
So I tried:
1) Adding <meta http-equiv="X-Frame-Options" content="allow"> in the HTML header.
2) Adding "Header always append X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN" (and "Header always append X-Frame-Options ALLOW-FROM <url>" as well) in the configuration file for apache (httpd.conf)
But still, I keep getting the same error.
Please note that I am using the same Apache version and code that generates the page that still works fine on old tableau version (8.2.0).
Please let me know if anyone has any clue on how to correct this or what else can I check.

Hi Pramod, do you have clickjack protection enabled? See this article:
Tableau Server adds the
X-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGINheader to certain responses from the server. In the current versions of most browsers, this header prevents the content from being loaded into an <iframe> element, which helps prevent clickjacking attacks.
Thank you for your reply, Jeff. I am going to try disabling it and see if that works.
4/1/16 update: My developer was mistaken, removing # didn't work for him (he still gets the same X-Frame-Options error message), so looks like we are back to disabling clickjacking...
(Sorry for being so late to reply) I got clickjacking disabled from server admin and that helped us to get rid f this.
I also faced similar issue. Mine got resolved when i used the parameter along with the URL parameter - "?:embed=yes"
This should resolve the problem

I was able to figure this one out. The basic details can be found here:
I recently experience this same error, "...because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'SAMEORIGIN'." The issue turned out to be the embedded URL was using was only the workbook URL, it was missing the sheet.
This helped me, but why did this help me?
