Are you using Active Directory authentication or local authentication? If you want to leverage authentication that has previously been accounted for by an external app, then refer to trusted authentication. Trusted Authentication
Thanks for your response Jeffrey!
We are using Active Directory authentication, our biggest issue here is redirecting the “Change Password” link onto to other server or our application to be more precise when a user tries to change his password on the Tableau Server.
I don't understand your query.
I am sorry if i am not clear.
Let me try to make it simple, we have our own web application tool with external users accessing it.
We wanted the users to login to our tool and redirected to the Tableau server, which is working fine.
However, once the user is on Tableau Server he/she has the right to his/her Change Password, my question here is -- do we have a way to redirect the Tableau Server "Change Password" link onto our tool or any other server rather than staying on the Tableau Server itself.
The reason behind this is if the user changes the password on tableau server, we wouldn't have the same password updated on our tool and he cannot login next time with the new password created.
Hope this clarifies!
Are you truly using AD integrated authentication with Tableau? With this method, I do not believe it's possible for the user to change their password within Tableau. If it is possible, can you show me a screenprint?
