I moved this over to our Tableau Developer's Community where it is more likely to get a response. Perhaps let us know what you've tried and what happens when you try to get the list of workbooks?
Thanks for migrating the question. The script (anonymized) in Python 2.7.10 is here:
from tableau_rest_api.tableau_rest_api import *
server = 'https://online.tableau.com'
username = ''
password = ''
tab_srv = TableauRestApi(server, username, password, site_content_url='')
logger = Logger('rest_test.log')
# print tab_srv.query_workbooks()
The signin line works about 30% of the time, and if it does, the query_workbooks line (or any of the other ones) will definitely fail:
The log file that is generated (also anonymized) is attached.
rest_test.log.zip 877 bytes
Hi Michael, are you still having problems? Your sample code sets the server name to "online.tableau.com". If you are using Tableau Online, you'll need to use the actual server name. Sign on to Online and take a look at the URL. You should see longer server name (for example, "10ay.online.tableau.com"). Try using this server name instead.
