I tried it on this site: http://www.texassports.com/roster.aspx?path=football and it brought in all the data perfectly but some columns appear to be duplicated
Its not that big of a deal since we can hide those columns, but when you throw it into import.io there is no duplication.
In an API call, Import.io returns the same column twice by design. One is for the source field, returned as a string. The other is the converted data type, which will happen any time there is a number involved.
I think there's a need for both just in case the data isn't converted the way you want. ZIP codes with leading zeros are a perfect example. Each one must be a 6-digit string, but when converted to an integer the leading zero gets cut off. The same could be true of ID numbers, etc. Tableau will still automatically assign the data type as a number, but if you set it back to a string it should retain the leading zeros from the "source" field but not the "value" field.
