I have applied the filter on State filed, what is the difference between to apply the filter on State field, Sales field.
But we are getting the correct output when we apply the filter on sales field?
The filter is working but because its set at $1000 only North Dakota is being filtered.
Try increasing it to $200,000, you should see only California & New York
If you create a new sheet with just state and sales, sort descending you'll see they're the only 2 states with > $200,000 sales. If you look at the very bottom you'll see North Dakota on $920 which is the only one to meet the original condition.
Does that make sense? And (more importantly) can you see how I worked through it?
Just came with an answer for my question, If you apply the filter directly on sales field, it will work for that instance only, For example --> just drag and drop sales, state on to the row shelf and apply the filter on sales filed(lets take bigger value 310,875) . It will show sum of sales which are greater than 310,875. Now i want see the see the segment values which are involved after getting our output. In this case you cannot the see the segment values every thing will be disabled.
Just do the above process but apply the filter on state field. Now you can see the difference.
See the below images.
You got it!!
Pleased that's all working, and you're happier using filters!
Best of luck
