# reference band / definition of area

Hi guys,

I want to limit the reference band. The band should beginn with 5 (s. horisontal axis) and end with 12.

Does anybody have ideas how can I do that?

Hi sankar,

the problem is that my horizontal axis insist of numerical values. This values is a group, so I cannot write a formula with this value.

Do you have any other ideas?

Thank you!

Hi Dilyana,

I think you can't do this easily because you can't create a "box" with borders between 0-12 on Y axis and 5-12 on X Axis.

But with 2 calculated fields it is possible. I join you a workbook as an example.

hi Dilyana,

If you want to so the fixed lines then use the images in view.

Thanks

Dilyana,

So my method does not work because you are using a Group and it can be reused in a calculated field. But if you can, you can create this group field with a formula or directly in the datasource with SQL. In that case you can use my method.

Here you can find your workbook with a "box" reference line.

First I create an index calculated field (formula: INDEX()). This calculated field allow me to give a number in function of Gruppierung. In your case the Gruppierung 5 will have the number 6 (because of the <1 value).

I used the index() to calculate the minimum/maximum values for your reference band with 2 calculated fields:

Min ==>                if [index]>=6 and [index]<=13 then window_min([band_test]) end

Max ==>              if [index]>=6 and [index]<=13 then window_max([band_test]) end

After that I build the reference band.
