I bet that you can do this with a parameter. See the example I have attached here. The only extra step you will need to decide is whether or not you want to exclude the null value. The null value corresponds to all of the items and categories that are not within the sets.

I have tried setting it up as a parameter but nothing happens when I click on each option.

Your answer is quiet interesting i too tried this but i am not getting how to add list of values in parameter, if i use add from Field all values are coming into the list....
how to add created sets into parameter..
