Let's start with the easy part first: Do you have a valid logon ID and password that you have confirmed are working?
Thanks for Your response. yes i do have the valid Login ID and Password.
failure is coming only when i access the Dashboard that built on SSAS Cube, other Dashboards am able to access fine.
Do remote connections to that SSAS cube work via Tableau Desktop?
Yes Justin, no trouble connecting to the cube on Tableau Desktop (But unable to publish).
We had hosted it few months ago successfully and now unable to access (getting the timeout expiration as attached in the initial message).
We have not changed any settings on the Tableau server. Kindly help me identify the reason for failure.
Nothing changed on Cube server side. Today i hosted the Same workbook on to different Tableau Server, from there am able to access the Dashboard fine.
I think both the tableau servers are configured with same server settings, but some how one server is giving trouble in accessing. Are there any specific ports that should be available to read Cube on failing server?
I'd recommend raising the issue with Tableau Support if you haven't already.
In terms of further troubleshooting.....If it's not the cube server, only possible causes I can think of that are on Tableau Server are
- Firewall settings
Drivers seem like an unlikely culprit based on that error so could be the firewall (check outbound ports) - SSAS by default listens on port 2383.
Simple way to check if its the firewall on Tableau Server is to just turn it off temporarily.
Thank You Justin. Will check if the port is closed behind the fairwal
Thank You Justin. It worked.
Upon the server upgrade, The Named instance was refreshed and dynamic port assignments was not happened correctly. assigned static IP to task to MSOLAP instance.
