Is the problem that the map points show on Desktop but not on Server? (I'm assuming they're both the same version)
If yes, these article may help:
Maps Do Not Display on Tableau Server | Tableau Software
and

and
Displaying Maps in Tableau Server | Tableau Software
Cheers

1 of 1 people found this helpfulMark's answer is absolutly correct but I would like to underscore what is in the above links:
Tableau Desktop 8.2 and later versions: maps.tableausoftware.com
This is important for the Server admins out there who have to deal with network stuff. We have VIPs (Virtual IPs) to allow communication between the our protected Server and the mapping server Tableau uses. Not fun stuff, mostly because it's something I don't understand (the whole VIP rigamarole). For additional help with Server and maps please ask in the Server Administration forum.

Cody Huth May 26, 2015 7:35 AM (in response to Mark Fraser)Good Morning,
Thank you for the responses. I wanted to share this information as well.
I have another graph that also plots points on a map, uploaded to the server, and this map works perfectly.
All dots show up and all filters/selectors work as advertised. Why is one graph working and another not?
The only thing i can think that would cause it is that the one that works is a live connection to Excel and the one that is not working is an extract. Could this be causing my issue?
