We have discovered an issue in Tableau Desktop 9.0.1 (build 9000.15.0427.2036) and Tableau Desktop 8.3.5 (build 8300.15.0421.2230) that could cause Tableau to close when you performed a worksheet action like Hide or Delete. As a result of this issue, we have temporarily removed Tableau Desktop 9.0.1 and 8.3.5 from the download site (versions 9.0 and 8.3.4 are still available). We are currently working on a fix and will make new builds of Tableau Desktop 9.0.1 and 8.3.5 available as soon as they are ready.
An unrelated issue in the installer for Tableau Desktop on the Mac will also be fixed. This issue resulted in Tableau Desktop not installing if Tableau had not previously been installed.
These issues do not affect Tableau Server 9.0.1 or 8.3.5.

Issue Fixed
The issue discovered with Tableau Desktop 9.0.1 and 8.3.5 has been fixed and updated builds are available from the Customer Portal. These new builds also address the Tableau Desktop install issue on the Mac.
