Tableau Will pull All relevant data into Work Area.
For An Examople,
IF you pull the Country, Sate columns into Work Area, Then apply the
filter= USA then Country, State columns will show USA related data only on
And, We can use the Quick Filters then apply the Show Relevant Values option, It will the Data in 2nd Quick filter with respect to Data we selected in the first Quick Filter.

Let's say I have these rows..

See above. Let's say I want to know what the category type is for the sub records for ID 2236.
Drag all required fields into work area (i.e Column, Row shelves) then right click on ID column, then click on quick filters, then select the values, then Report show the it's relevant data on the Report.
