Please give valid response -> Based on the Tableau desktop i have generated tableau report and also published the same report in web browser based on the Tableau server.
But how can i refresh the generated report data for every 1 hour , please help me out , it's very very urgent.
Thanks a lot for in advance
When we use live connection then data will update. no schedule needed. but if you used extract then we can add schedule then data will update.
Better you can use the last function and do parameter and show current day data.
If your connection from Tableau to Oracle is Live, then you need not refresh your reports, it will be auomatically updated
based on data refresh.
But , if your connection is made as an Tableau extract then this has to be refreshed,
Create a refresh schedule in the Tableau server admin page and add your workbook or data extract o this schedule.
Ensure that your extrat file is in a location accessible to the Tableau server's Run as user account.
I have taken live data only - at the time of creation is ok.
After generating the data report in web browser how we can refresh the updated data automatically.
I have one option in tableau like admin--> scheduled option there we can do.
based on that how we can do.
As said earlier, for Live connection, need not do anything.
The published report will have the data source information and it will talk to the data base all the time, no need to set up a refresh schedule.
Vasu, this forum is not part of paid support and there are only a few Tableau employees here. The answers you get mostly come from us, volunteers, and we help where we can.
If your report is live then any time you or someone viewing the report from the Tableau Server needs to see it with updated data you/they simply click the Refresh button at the top center of the report or else just refresh the browser screen (F5).
