Will Tableau Server Recognize More Memory?

    David Stachon

So, my IT department provisioned a server for me to install Tableau Server 8.3 on. (Windows 2012 R2)

...but, for some odd reason only gave me 1 GB of RAM. (arg)

This will be increased in a couple of weeks, but am I okay to install Tableau Sever now (ignoring the warnings), and when the new memory gets provisioned, will Tableau Server 'know' that it's there?

Or, do I need to wait until the memory is there before I do the install?

      thanks!

      david.

Wait for enough memory, it's the best approach.

            Hey David,

Provided that you can even get Tableau Server to install with just 1 GB of RAM, the answer is yes, Tableau Server will recognize when you get additional memory provided that you restart Tableau Server.

            Regards,

David, I have recently upgraded my server inspite of warning for more memory because it will recognise once the server is added with more memory.
