Doug, I came across the same problem today. I installed the x86 (32bit) version of TabCMD, which installs to "Program Files(x86)", which lets me login with --no-certcheck successfully.
Must be something wrong with the 64bit version.
Hope this helps.
Thank you so much sir, works just like you said.
Thanks for the heads-up, Toby Erkson.
Doug Erickson: Which version of Tableau Server are you encountering this with? A couple instances of this problem were fixed in 8.2.0. If you haven't yet, I'd suggest please pinging our Support team to file a bug report. If there's something wrong with the x64 version of tabcmd, then we'd like to know about it.
The version of our server is 8.2.4. As stated above, 64-bit tabcmd gives the error, 32-bit works fine. This has only been tested on Windows 7 64-bit workstations. The server is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. We are using a public ssl certificate from GeoTrust that is a size of 2048 (I think).
Our server is no longer under maintenance, so I am not sure if I am able to open a case and file a bug report.
We have 8.2.7 64-bit just installed in test with an InCommon 4098 bit cert also just installed.

yields some interesting results.
It may be that the current java on the server installation doesn't support cert bits for DH higher than 1028

Going to submit this to support.
I also have the same issue. Is it a bug . What was the response from tableau Support.
I'm using the 64-bit version of 8.3.2 and have used the --no-certcheck without issue.
I have tried it in 8.2.7 and throws out the error.
