1. Re: How to edit a custom SQL query in Tableau 8.2 when the table/view in the query has been changed or removed?
brad.earle.1 Nov 4, 2014 11:33 AM (in response to Alessandro Pintucchi)When I attempt to reconnect using a custom SQL and Tableau 8.2, I get an error message that asks if I want to edit the connection information:
Selecting Yes then opens the edit data screen, with the custom SQL shown in red. Within the red box, there is an edit icon -- clicking on that permits me to modify the custom SQL.
After opening the Custom SQL dialog, I then just changed the SQL to point to the correct new table.
Note: I did not change the connected server or db -- just the table/view references within the custom SQL.

I was clicking on Edit Data Source... and it was not allowing me to edit the query. Instead, I clicked on extract data and it gave me the option to edit the query. Thank you for your help.
