Hi I believe some drivers are not installed on tour server. What kind of database are you trying to connect to? (MySQL? MS SQL, etc.?)
If the drivers are installed and you're still having this problem it might have to do with using the DNS in the connection. Instead of using the DNS use the IP of the machine and it should solve the problem.
Hi Edgar Ernesto
I am fetching data from the SAP Hana server.Creating dashboard on local machine and publishing on the Tableau Server.
But it is generating the error that i have already mentioned.
I have installed the SAP HANA Client on the tour server and configured the HDBODBC 32 driver.
Now it is showing:
DataSourceException: [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB32 DLL][HDBODBC32] Communication link failure;-10709 Connection fa
2014-04-18 13:46:34.993 (U1EsucCoAQ4AACRYYagAAAC@,0,1).
Have you been able to resolve this issue please? could you please advise?
I'm doing pretty much the same thing like you have mentioned and its throwing the same error.
I have tried to create the Tableau Story using Tableau Desktop 8.3 (32 bit) and conencted both directly to SAP HANA connector as well as through ODBC and published to Tableau Server, but still same DLL error.
1) Installed both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows HANA Client on the Tableau Server
2) Created System DSN using HDBODBC and HDBODBC32 and named it exactly like what I have locally HANA_ONE_R52_1
1. Setting up the Console Client -- SAP HANA Cloud Platform
2. Opening the Database tunnel -- SAP HANA Cloud Platform
However, I'm not sure if this applied only to connecting to SAP HANA Cloud only. Since we have HANA hosted on AWS Cloud, would this apply in our case?
Greatly appreciate your response.
