Create a calculated field with the following and use as a filter.
IF CONTAINS([DiseaseType],'Metastatic') AND CONTAINS([DiseaseType],'Stage IV') THEN 1 ELSE 0 END
Thanks Dylan. That's really helpful. Just to be sure, do the single quotations around Metastatic and Stage IV make them wildcards? These words are buried in long lines of text.
It seems to be working but I was expecting my count of rows retrieved to increase but it remained unchanged. I might have to double check my other filters.

Right, CONTAINS() uses the second argument as a wildcard.
It's functionally equivalent to where DiseaseType like '%Metastatic%' and DiseaseType like '%Stage IV%' in SQL.
