I originally developed a workbook with several complex data connections to an MS Access data source. I have since, because of the number of records, migrated the tables to SQL server. I would now like to change the data souce from Access to SQL. Table names are a little different, but field names and structure are all the same as they were in Access. I saw this article and thought it was the way to do it but just wanted to make sure there weren't any other words of wisdom out there before I plunge ahead. I will make a copy of the existing workbook "just in case" to have as a backup.
that is the article you want. As you can imagine, the larger and more complex the data source, the more likely you will run into an issue. Any issue should be resolvable but may require some manual work. I have not done this but If it were me I would want the table names to be the same as well if at all possible.
