# Percent of Total not Correct

Hello,

I am trying to use the quick table calculation for the percent of total but I am not getting the correct value.

I have a calculation that shows if a document was approved on-time (Met 14 day metric).  If this is yes, I want the count of the "YES" metric divided by the total number of documents approved in that month.

In the example data I have for December 2013 there are 28 documents that were approved on time.  There were 35 documents closed total in December 2013.  So I should see 28/35 = .8 or 80%.  However then I use the percent of total calculation I am getting 24.14%.

What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Here's a chart displaying the correct results, I believe. There are a number of ways you could do this, but this was just the method that made sense to me. The calculation used is:

(TOTAL(COUNT([Number of Records])) - COUNT([Number of Records])) / TOTAL(COUNT([Number of Records]))

// This is because the normal % of total will give you 20%, and you want the inverse of that, I believe

Also, I removed the Met 14 Day Metric to show both Yes and No--you need both to be included to get the correct % of total across both.

Let me know if this makes sense.
