Good afternoon Ryan,
To my knowledge, Tableau is for visualising and analysing data. It does not allow you to change the underlying data content or structure.
The staff member, depending on access levels, would be able to alter any calculations you have created inside Tableau itself, but the actual data it is reading would not be affected.
Hope this helps!
Thanks to both of you for your help.
Tableau itself is a tool for visualizing data, not entering data. That said, Tableau is pretty flexible, and Tableau's users are pretty creative, so there are some hacks out there for write-back. Tamas Foldi came up with with at least 1 early on,if you search the forums you will find it. With Tableau 8.1 there are two other possibilities, one using stored procedures and the second using R functions. Like I said, though, they are hacks and the user experience may not be ideal.
