How to create dimension boolean filter with conditional measures

    Jason Back

      Hello Tableau fellow users,

I am trying to create a Yes or No filter to filter out my stores that are Variance to Target > -1%.

The example is attached, and I've tried to create one but the filter stays in measure's section and I can't apply it to filters box for some reason.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

If you can put the 2013 YTD Variance to Target in the data source itself, you could then pull the Store dimension to the Filters shelf, and filter on the condition of that field being greater than -1%.  Because it is a calculated aggregation, Tableau does not give us the option to use it as a conditional filter for a dimension.

There is likely a way to do what you want with the data you have, but I could not figure it out.  Maybe someone else will have a simple solution.
