    64-bit with Tableau Version 8.1

      As you may have heard, Tableau version 8.1 now comes in a 64-bit version!

       

      You’ll notice that you will have the option to choose between a 32 or 64-bit version when downloading Tableau. Make sure to download the version that matches your operating system.

       

      The following Microsoft article automatically detects which Windows Operating System version you are using and provides instructions on how to manually determine whether you are using a 32 or 64-bit version:

      It’s important to note that a 32-bit version of Tableau can be run on a 64-bit OS, however, you cannot run a 64-bit version of Tableau on a 32-bit OS.

       

      It may also be necessary to download a 64-bit database driver depending on the connection type. Check out which connections need this driver here:
