# Getting Prior Quarter Value to Compute Change

Hello,

So I've been trying to do something I thought would be easy, but I just cannot get it to work.  I am trying to create a calculation to get he prior quarter value for a variable so I can then compute the difference of and calculate the annualized change.  I know I have to use the Look up function (Lookup(Sum([Credits]),1) and compute using table down along each student.  I've tried every way to Sunday, but am not getting correct results.  Seems to be missing the quarter and is instead pulling the value for the preceding student rather than preceding quarter.  I've seen Joe Mako's clicks example, but I just can't get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

This get's the previous quarter's difference.  Not sure what the desired end result is, but see if it helps

Thanks, glad you got the correct values, but I was looking to see it on one line, i.e., Student Name, Current Quarter Credits, Prior Quarter Credits.  From there I was going to calculated the difference and show the Top 10 on a bar chart.

(I noticed you calculated based on Table Across rather than Table Down, I guess I wasn't thinking aboat as a table across deal - brain cramp.

As a side note I see you created a separate set for Quarters, which is cool and I didn't know this could be done.  Any way to get that to display as actual quarter end date rather than the start of quarter date, i.e, September 30 rather and July 1?

Thanks again
