Steve, you're trying to use an alpha-numeric ID as the CBSA, whereas Tableau is looking for a text name. Unfortunately this doesn't help you much, because Tableau's set of names isn't matching your set of names. You have:

So the easiest solution is to first do a replace in the Excel files to get rid of all the " Metro Area". Next go to Tableau and change the ID geo to none. Then change the Name field to the CSBA geo (from the cities geo). This should get T to recognize your geographies.
