Absolutely. Look into using parameters In a calculated field, and use it as on the dashboards. This essentially will allow you to swap the dimension members (or swap measures) in your charts. You may even be able to use just one dashboard with one or more parameters. Very powerful feature of Tableau.
Here is a good starting point: http://kb.tableausoftware.com/articles/knowledgebase/parameterized-measure
Thanks Matthew. I have used parameters in the past but this does not solve it.
The executives do not have any kind of training and hence I am sending them a workbook which has all the 5 dashboards pertaining to 5 territories. Each dashboard will show data related to an individual territory.
Any ideas on how to do this?
I am not sure I understand the problem. A parameter operates like a very simple filter when built properly, so training shouldn't be an issue. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the problem.
if you must separate the territories, then you can set filters on each and choose which sheets to apply them to (there is a handy option to select only the sheets on the active dashboard as well).
You can also use various methods to set user level filters. So, I can build one dashboard but different data is displayed based on who is viewing the workbook (I use Tableau Server to utilize this):
