Is it possible to hide floating objects?

Tableau 8 gives the ability to make objects float above one another, as well as locate and size them accurately.  I have a dashboard where I have several graphs that overlay each other and are hidden and shown by selecting different combinations of radio buttons.  In order to improve the layout accuracy, I converted each graph to be a floating object.  However, what I found was that when the radio buttons are selected to show a different chart, the floating object isn't transparent, so the chart object below it can't be seen, even if the topmost chart is hidden.

Is there a way to make this work on a dashboard?  I may have as many as 4 charts that overlay each other, only one of which will be visible at any time.

I am using Tableau Desktop 8.04.
