There are a good number of methods to achieve this - some use features of Tableau to fill in for missing dates, some use a date scaffold to complete for all dates (this can be done with another source, or with custom SQL). It's going to depend heavily on what you have now (can you share a tbwx?).

Essentially we want to look at leads created in month groupings. Since we are looking an scale that looks at who engages in an application up to 21 days after created date, we use an "engaged app" date range of Jan 1 - Feb 21 in this case. For this Jan 1-Feb 21 Range, we want "what % of total applications in period" we had at each day of the period. I.E. 5% of total applications in period came in Day 1, we had 99% of applications for the period on Day 45, and 100% would be in by the final date. Since the next step is comparing Periods over the course of a year, I will need to create some sort of index so that Jan 1 = 1 and Feb 21 = 52.
The final objective is to say "I have 50 engaged apps on day 15 of the current period, how many am I on pace for, based on historical trends?"
