Very difficult to say what is happening based on your description. There is typically a reason for something like this. If you can't post a sample packaged workbook here on the forum, contact Tableau Support and they can help you resolve the issue.
When something like this happens to me, it is typically due to filtering/actions I have set up at the dashboard/workbook level. Particularly when I was brand new to Tableau, I would often have problems with conflicting filters, or not clearing filters after testing them, etc.
Thanks. I have the log files. I get the feeling that it has to do with memory. I am running on a 32 bit machine and Tableau keeps giving me the error saying "Tableau is running low on memory"
