# Does Tableau let us change the default horizontal axis from 0 to 99.9(or to some other number) in a plot? This is something like having the 99.9 degree line in a plot as the main horizontal axis (instead of the default 0 degree line).

Check out the attachment for a screenshot of how I want my plot to look like. The 99.95% line is the main horizontal axis .

Sylvia,

Yes, right click on your axis, choose 'Fixed' and put in your desired range

Hope this helps!

Daniel.

But Daniel, the 99.95 axis should be the starting line and should be placed in the middle of the plot(not at the bottom of the plot) and at the same time, we do have values that go below 99.95 and values that go beyond 99.95. If you see the attachment, you will understand what I'm saying?

Or am I the one who's confused here?

Ah! My apologies, Sylvia. I glanced at your attachment too quickly and didn't look at it long enough to fully understand it!

I don't know if it's possible to set the main axis at something other than 0.

Deleted.

Sylvia,

Yes it possible!  The basic idea is to calculate how far the value is from .995 and then use a Gantt Bar mark with the original field as the placement of the bar and the calculation as the bar's length.  I've attached a workbook to demonstrate.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Joshua

(I used 5% in this example)

Thanks Joshua! This is perfect. Thanks to Daniel for the effort.

Cheers to Shawn and Dimitri as well
