The concept is realtively simple. Implementation... no so much.
Attached is a sample of what I think should be a simple chart of Current vs Historical.
The circles are current performance, the bars are +/-1 standard deviation from the rolling quarter average (excludes current month), and the lines are +/-2 standard deviations from the rolling quarter average.
Between floating bars, standard deviation calculations, and rolling date ranges, I just can't seem to get the pieces to fit together. Maybe I am overthinking it. Is there a simple way to build this in Tableau?
I believe you should be able to do it just using a couple of calculated fields and then reference lines for distribution...
