It sounds like you want to embed a view into a site, and you want to know if the permissions still apply. The permissions and licensing still applies to the view, unless the Enable Guest function is applied. The following link gives more detail:
yes , and i want to use website user , like user login in website then same credentials work for dashboard , if he login so tableau view should be updated regarding those credentials.
is it possible ???
You'll have to add your website users to your user list on Tableau Server.
I have the same question being asked of me by my users.
My Tableau Server 8.x is using Active Directory authentication with automatic logon enabled. We are not looking to add local accounts.
The question that came to me: We have a web application that is using a generic login/password (Non-Active Directory). Is there a way to pass the user from the web application to pull back views from Tableau based on that users Tableau Account (AD) to display as an embedded viz?
AD | Tableau Login: Domain\JoeSmith
Web Login: JSmith
Once JSmith is logged into the web application it will display Viz's based on the permissions Domain\JoeSmith has. I'm a little fuzzy on the Trusted Authentication, but it seems from what I read that I cannot use Trusted Authentication and Active Directory with automatic logon at the same time.
Is there any other options? SSO maybe?
