Thank you for reply. All of a sudden I am getting an error "There is no active connection to the data source". I am not sure what needs to be done here. Any suggestions please.
Hi -- did you figure out what was causing this error? I'm seeing the same thing when I run this command:
C:\temp>tableau refreshextract --source-username '<username>' --original-file .\file.csv --server https://online.tableausoftware.com --datasource 'file#csv (file.csv)' --username '<username>' --password <password>
There is no active connection to the data source.
This command worked once this morning, and since then it has issued this error.
To answer my question -- the problem seems to go away when you upgrade from Tableau Desktop 8.0 to Tableau Desktop 8.1.
