Images are only displayed when your variables are considered as dimensions.
At present they are calculations which are continuous.
I am attaching a workbook by copying over you data and turning the variable into dimensions.
Hope it helps.

Thank you for your reply. Apparently it can be done.
But please tell me, how did you convert them?
This for example, does not work, and neither does right clicking on the measures.
Your worksheet variables are calculations which cannot be converted into dimensions.
I will suggest you do all your calculations outside in excel or any other software you prefer.
Connect that to Tableau. Check that your variables are numeric in nature and when you build your graph, right click the green pill and choose dimensions.
If this is true, then I must say it is a huge lack of functionality with Tableau. Why should it be so hard to add an image to a plot?
The image is drawn to fill the plot and to have certain axis dimensions, so if I can just set the axes to a fixed scale (yes I can) and have the image fill the whole figure, then it will be good no matter how the plot is sized in terms of pixels.
Thanks again, but doing the calculation outside is not an option. I'm fetching the data from a MySQL database and the whole point of this is to do these calculations in Tableau. I already have an intermediate step where it's done with Matlab but for using Tableau I want to take the data directly from the DB without any middle steps.
