# I am using COUNTD(Brand_ID) to determine unique brands by patient ID

I have been unable to get the calculation to indicate a count >1.

Here is a link to workbook...

Dropbox - RALI Interactivity sample.twbx

There is a worksheet labeled COUNTD

Bonny, I think all you need to do is turn the Aggregate Measures back on. Is this what you're looking for?

What you are showing me looks good but i am still getting the "1". Are the measures discrete or continuous?

I've attached the workbook. Since you're using PatientID on the rows, the table calc uses the Brands of interest, instead of PatientID.

Is this what you're looking for?

Thanks Shawn. For some reason, even with the same measures I wasn't able to get the correct count so I just grabbed your wkbk.

One thing that it would be nice to fix is that when I throw medication date start it shows a new date timeline for each brand. It would be great if there could be one timeline. Does that make sense? I am going to play around with it and see what I find. Encouraging that I was so close...

Thanks again.

When I introduce the date functions the brand count is not in order, i.e., brand 1 (the first drug) may or may not be the actual first drug in the sequence that displays in Tableau. It seems to accurately count the unique IDs but I am unable to display them on a timeline (Medication Start Date or DateDiff calculations don't seem to work...Shawn Wallwork

Bonny, the tbm files you posted can't be opened. You'll need to post twbx files. Also you posted this discussion on the Community front page and changed the default setting so it created a post that can only be accessed from the Community front page. The problem is that this page only has two pages of history, which today is only holding the last 6 hours of posts. So in effect your post has fallen off of the forums into the ether. The only reason I can answer it is because it is in my own activity stream, but no one else will see this The specified item was not found. and Tracy Rodgers are aware of the problem and are working to fix it.

This was a long way of saying in the future please click the Forum option before posting your question. Thanks.

If you post those workbooks I'll take another look. I don't think you really need/want the running_sum to visualize the info you're after.
