You can do this in Tableau 8 (not 7, though). On a dashboard, select the quick filter you want to change and use the little drop down arrow on the upper right. Select "Apply to Worksheets..." --> "Selected Worksheets". You can then select which sheets on the dashboard will be affected by the quick filter.
Hope that helps!

Joshua

to different dashboards? -

Hi Matt,
Filters are applied only at the worksheet level. So to have the second dashboard effected it's sheets will need to have the filter applied to them. If the worksheet should have a filter in one dashboard but not another, one way around this is to create a duplicate of the worksheet and apply appropriately.
Hope this helps!

There are a couple of other options for having a single filter apply to multiple dashboards:
- set up two filter Actions from the same worksheet, unfortunately they will always jump the user to the "away" dashboard but both dashboards would be filtered.
- set up a parameter-based filter.
