Use map as filter instead of parameter

I made this simple map, in wich the user selects a state using a parameter control, all the other states change color depending on their performace compared to the selected state.

      Workbook: States Example

The data set consists of a "State" column and other multiple columns, each with the name of the state with which it is being compared.

The thing now, is that I don't want to use the parameter control to select the state. I want to use the same map as the state selector, so when the user clicks on a State, all the other States change color.

I have tried in various ways, but so far no luck. Do you guys think that it's possible to do this?  One of the restrictions I have is that I cannot change the data structure.

      Any help will be appreciated.
