"DataSourceException: Invalid wide string length" error in Tableau Public when using a parameter, but not in Desktop.

I've published a workbook to Tableau Public.

      Zip Code Comparison

The "Enter Your Zipcode" field is a string parameter that should then plot all other zip codes in relation to the entered code.

This works as expected in Tableau Desktop, but when I try updating that parameter in Tableau Public, I receive the following error:

      "DataSourceException: Invalid wide string length"

I've tried several things, but I'm at a loss.  Any help would definitely be appreciated.

(Also - the zip code is being stored as a string in order for Tableau to recognize the leading 0's that numerous zip codes start with)
