    Percent difference from DYNAMIC value

    Lewis Manlley

      Hi All,

I'm trying to alter the current quick calculation function within Tableau to enable a user to choose a dynamic value generated from a parameter rather than the usual FIRST, LAST, PREVIOUS or NEXT options in the (% Difference From) calculation. As you can see  below, I have chosen the FIRST option to index the three variables against the first QTR date value in the data.

I would like a user to choose a value (QX YY) from a parameter to act as the index point e.g. Display the value as a percent difference from (QX YY).

I presume this can be done by customising the calculation code but this is where I hit my limits.

      I have started here: http://public.tableausoftware.com/views/DynamicIndex/Dashboard1?:embed=y&:display_count=no

      Please help!
