Freeing Up Space on Computer Running Tableau Server

    Matt Lieberman

      Hi All,

I am responsible for maintaining Tableau server for my company. We are running Tableau server on a Virtual Machine and server is the only program on the VM. Yesterday the Virtual Machine ran out of hard drive space and as you could probably guess this basically rendered our server views useless until our IT guy added more space to the VM. I was wondering if there were any files contained within the Tableau server program file that I could delete to free up more space on the VM or any methods to create space on the VM's hard drive. Will deleting views from the Tableau server correspondingly free up space on the hard drive of the VM running server?

Sorry for these rather basic questions. I am decently experienced with the Tableau software but not with server maintenance.
