3 values in the parameter, all, working, fired, with the latter matching your WorkStatus members
A calculation something like:
if [parameter name]=[Workstatus] then "Show" elseif [parameter name]="all" then "Show" else "Filter" end
+1 to your 'karma' ^__^
No problem - out of interest, why not use a quick filter with the all option on?
Hi Mark / Alex
I was looking for a similar function, I need it because I am filtering across multiple data sources (resolved date for different SLA's taken from multiple data sources (incident, problem, change) allowing me to have one dashboard sowing all sla results with one filter for month). To do this you need to use a parameter and a calculated field, the default tableau guidance has you filter on true or false criteria meaning it only shows the months as options so the all option is not available.
I used the formula below
if [Select Month]=[Month Resolved] then "Show" elseif [Select Month]="all" then "Show" else "Filter" end
I thought this has worked at first however it has not, when selecting a month it shows everything but that month i.e. if have July, Aug, Sept when selecting sept it shows July and Aug. When selecting all it shows all.
So close but no Cigar!
A quick google search showed this - Business AnalyticsInclude an All option in a parameter in Tableau
This has now resolved my issue - Adding here incase anyone else has a problem. I think the solution originally posted is fine when you only have 2 options in your list as the OP did.
