You cannot blend one OLAP data source against another. Sorry.
When blending with an OLAP data source, it must always be the primary data source. So, if you wanted to blend SSAS and SQL Server relational, SSAS would be the primary, relational would be secondary.
Since both OLAP data sources can't be primary at the same time, you're stuck.
Yes, you are stuck if you try data blending.
However, if you can create the two views and use a common filter (either a parameter or a sheet and use action filtering) then you can show information from both systems in the same dashboard

Sorry for hijacking a thread, but I heard that this was supposed to be achievable with Tableau 8. However, it seems to still be an issue. Do you have any more current information on blending two cubes?
