    Load Delimited field values

    Dan Shannon

      Hi All,

      Tableau newbee here.

I am becoming proficient in generating Tableau dashboards and loading data, however I am running into a scenario where my datasource has delimited values within a field.

Example, as you can see the field EntityIDs is [space] delimited.  Each value represents a unique id in my model.

      Source1

      ProjectNameEntityIDs
      Project110  11  12  18
      Project245  47  58  47

I have another datasource i need to join to Source1 on EntityID:

      Source2

      EntityIDNum_Compliance_Rows
      Num_Error_Rows
      105,4001,212
      1133,4562,467
      .........
      582,334980

Therefore, i need to somehow normalize the EnityIDs field in Source1 so that I may perform a join.

Ultimately, I need to chart ProjectName vs Num_Compliance_Rows and  ProjectName vs Num_Error_Rows, but can seemingly only do so once I split out the EntityIDs from Source1 based on the [space] delimiter.

      Any thoughts or recommendations!??!?!

Many thanks from an excited new Tableau user!
