The hidden sheets remain that way on the server till the user clicks on "edit".That is when user will be able to see all the hidden sheets. If you deny edit rights user cannot see the hidden sheets.
Let me know if I am on the right track in understanding your issue.
Thanks,

2. Re: How do i hide sheets within a workbook on tableau server?
Amy Meriwether Apr 4, 2013 6:48 AM (in response to Mulukutla Sarath Chandra)I think i am having a hard time explaining this. So my workbook in tableau server is called
"Inpatient Report"
I have five sheets within this workbook which are named once i open this workbook.
Team
DRG,
Facility,
County,
DX Code
I want my end user to only see one of the sheets after clicking on Inpatient report ("Team") forcing them to open the first sheet. Then, when they have clicked on the first sheet, they will see all the named tabs within the workbook. But i do not want the server view to display all 5 of the sheets. Does that help?

Susan Anderson Apr 4, 2013 7:23 AM (in response to Amy Meriwether)I am not sure I fully understand purpose, however, could you perhaps create a Dashboard and use Actions (perhaps on Select or Hover maybe) to display the workbooks you require?

4. Re: How do i hide sheets within a workbook on tableau server?
Mulukutla Sarath Chandra Apr 4, 2013 11:14 PM (in response to Amy Meriwether)Hi Amy,
When you publish the workbook, uncheck the option "Show Sheets as Tabs".This will not give the users tabs on the server and he wont be able to access the other 4 sheets.
Hope that helps!!!!
Thanks,

There is no way to accomplish what you are asking for here, and its a huge pain. I would like the same type of functionality, but currently, its either show all tabs or show none (as far as I can tell, anyway).
